"How to be good when everything landslide, the money is missing and the instinct of survival, but also how bad is it in us, is struggling to cope?" (The good soul of Sezuan, Bertolt Brecht)
Looking for a 'good soul ", three gods descend to earth, just in the capital of the Chinese province of Sezuan. After a long pilgrimage finally manage to find one, it is the prostitute Shen Te, the only one to offer them hospitality during the night. The fee for the generous woman of a thousand silver dollars, Shen Te who invests in a tobacco shop. But the gift is accompanied by the commandment to continue to practice goodness. Fatal error, that only the gods, do not have to manage cash as well as men can commit. The unfortunate Shen Te, in fact, he finds himself immediately surrounded by a swarm of pests and petitioners who seek its fortunes. Among these, an unemployed young airman, Sun, which involved more than her also to his nest egg, which puts even pregnant. When it comes to preparing the way for a child to be born, however, should be so ruthless and Shen Te, who can not be, called his distant cousin and skillful, Shui Ta, to take over the reins of administration to suo posto.
The audacity of Brecht is right in having said the same character, and a double - Shen Te / Shui Ta - the 'parable' of capitalist development, where you recognize the same ethical and social conflicts of our contemporary reality.
